30th May 2008:

The HRDG's newest purchase, a BR 20 ton standard brake van arrives at Trevarno. FULL DETAILS.



18th May 2008:

Ruston 327974 moves under its own power, another first thanks to Lester. First train to move on the Helston branch since 1964.



27th December 2007:

Ruston 327974 is started up for the first time since its arrival at Trevarno. Another milestone in the project, many thanks to Lester Rowell for his time and effort spent on achieving this!!



12th October 2007:

Second Ruston 165DS 0-4-0 shunter (build no 395305) arrives at Trevarno.



4th/5th September 2007:

Newly aquired Ruston 165DS 0-4-0 shunt locomotive is delivered to Trevarno on the 4th becoming the first locomotive on the Helston Branch since 1964. The lorry then collects the Park Royal DMU from Gwinear road and delivers it to its new home at Trevarno.



9th April 2007:

The HRDG hold it's first 'open day' with the Gwinear site being open to the public. The event managed to raise apx £300 towards the restoration of the Park Royal DMU.



20th January 2007:

Planning permission has been granted for the railway at Trevarno so the Helston Railway Preservation Society should begin track laying very soon. It is hoped to move our class 103 DMU from Gwinear Road to the railway in the middle part of this year.



23rd May 2006:

ITS HERE!! Monday 22nd May saw Park Royal class 103 DMU power car 50413 move from Bishops Lydeard to our Gwinear site by road. Trailer 56169 followed on the following day. FULL STORY.



19th May 2006:

Our class 103 DMU begins its journey to Cornwall being dragged from Williton to Bishops Lydeard in preparation for its road move. SEE HERE for details.



23rd April 2006:

Work starts preparing the Gwinear Road site for the arrival of the class 103. SEE HERE for details.



17th March 2006:

The HRDG are the confirmed new owners of the two car 'Park Royal' class 103 DMU based on the West Somerset Railway. We now urgently need your help to raise money to get it moved to our site by a May the 25th 2006 deadline!!
